The Big Q: What will US AG Jeff Sessions’ 1st move on Marijuana?
Readers, there is a new lawman on the scene, and the Marijuana industry may be in for major upheaval.
Just how much change Attorney General Sessions might bring about, and how soon he address federal Marijuana law enforcement is a multibillion-dollar question.
“It’s not like you could see agents come into every storefront in the United States tomorrow and deal with this. That’s not a reality,’ a drug policy expert said last week.
But if AG Sessions rescinds the Y 2013 Cole Memo that established federal guidelines for Marijuana enforcement, things will get difficult for policy makers. It is already difficult for elected officials.
The Marijuana industry is in legal-illegal Limbo and has been publicly chastised by AG Sessions, the future strategy for the Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Trump Administration could present itself in stark contrast to the fairly laissez-faire enforcement approach by the Hussein-Obama Admin.
