I’m Not a Racist, I’m an Australian
Many of my articles and tweets are greeted with the accusation of being “racist” a handy label people grab when they are trying negate and undermine a point of view that they can not respond to in an intellectual manner.
I do not care at all what colour someone’s skin is, I do not care with God they turn to for redemption, I do not care who they love or sleep with, whatever makes them happy is good with me.
What I don’t like is when the same courtesy is not extended to me, when the Government of my homeland turns it’s back on the culture and welfare of my people in the interest of “Political Correctness”.
The Australian Culture and Identity is under attack by Government too weak to stand up for the rights of its citizens they are too quick to forget that we are Australians, we have a culture, we have traditions, if that culture and those traditions offend you, fine, the door is open and you are welcome to leave.
It is not wrong or racist for me to make that statement. It is the fact in most countries!
I love Dubai, I think Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is one of the greatest leaders and visionary’s on the planet, he has invested in his people and his country to make it a shining example not only for the Muslim world but for everyone. The UAE is a great country with great people.
The Australian Government should follow his lead, build your own country based on your own traditions and invest in your own people.
When I am in the UAE, I follow the local traditions, I conform to their social norm, I respect and celebrate their holidays. Festivals be they National or Religious are a celebration of humanity, something we should all enjoy.
In America when the Star Spangled Banner comes on I am standing for it, 4th of July I am lighting Fireworks, Thanksgiving I am cooking a Turkey. I love Americans.
We demand that level of respect at home. In Australia people should respect an honor our traditions. Our traditions should not be curbed because they offend someone, that is not integration that is complete disrespect to the men and women that built the country, that is not racism.
The Australian Government must be stopped before “Australian” means nothing.
