A couple of handsome Aussie’s take the lead ( no not me ), Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, Hugh is looking very Ned Kellyish (you can take the boy out of Oz but you cant take the Oz out of the boy) in the stills, but no doubt they will deliver the highest standard of their art form yet again in this movie.
Is it an Oscar contender? We know the story is a great one of course, and given the strength of the cast and the stunning cinematography that we have seen so far, maybe this one has a real shot.
In December 2012, the epic musical comes to the big screen. Les Miserables (2012) starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway. An adaptation of the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel set in 19th-century France, in which a paroled prisoner named Jean Valjean seeks redemption.
Prisoner 24601, known as Jean Valjean, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. Set in early revolutionary France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the June Rebellion.
