  • Ford Thailand, the local arm of US carmaker Ford Motor Co, reported its second quarter sales jumped 34% year-on-year to 12,575 vehicles, driven by continued growth in demand for the Ranger pickup truck and Everest mid-size SUV.
  • Ford’s quarterly sales results translated into an overall market share gain of 1.3 percentage points to 6.3% for the April-June period, marking Ford’s highest-ever quarterly market share.
  • Ford announced plans to build the Ranger midsize pickup and Bronco SUV to great applause at the 2017 Detroit auto show, but there’s not much celebration from leaders of the vehicles’ future home in Wayne, Mich.

The Financial Services segment primarily includes its vehicle-related financing and leasing activities at Ford Motor Credit Company LLC. Ford Smart Mobility LLC is a subsidiary formed to design, build, grow, and invest in emerging mobility services. The Central Treasury Operations segment is primarily engaged in decision making for investments, risk management activities, and providing financing for the Automotive segment.
