Ford China sells 40,978 units in February, + 28% on Year (NYSE:F)

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) said Wednesday its sales in China totaled 40,978 vehicles in February, + 28% on year and bolstered by strong demand for its Mondeo sedan and Transit transporter van.

Ford sold 27,616 Ford-branded vehicles in February, an increase of 21%, it said in a statement.

These included Ford-branded passenger vehicles from the Company’s Changan Ford Mazda Automotive Ltd. J-V where sales rose 11% to 21,092. Ford reported sales of 4,063 Ford Mondeo sedans, + 151% on year.

Ford’s Jiangling Motors Corp. commercial-vehicle venture posted 48% sales growth to 18,642 vehicles, the statement said.

The Company said it sold 5,280 Ford Transit vans in February, + 55% on year.
