Spendthrift Australia: First Foals by Hampton Court, Jimmy Creed and Warrior’s Reward

The highly-anticipated first foals by Spendthrift Australia’s stallions Hampton Court, Jimmy Creed and Warrior’s Reward have arrived, and they are earning high marks from breeders who are raving about their exceptional quality.

“From all reports, the first foals by Hampton Court, Jimmy Creed and Warrior’s Reward are receiving high praise, and deservedly so,” said Garry Cuddy, Spendthrift Australia’s general manager. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the results and our support from around the country.”

Breeder Gary O’Meara of Miranda Park VIC is enthusiastic about the eye-catching foals on the ground by all three of Spendthrift’s stallions.

“My clients and I have been big supporters of Spendthrift, and I am happy with the foals we have on the ground by their sires,” O’Meara said. “We have a lovely filly by Hampton Court out of Just Push On that is very strong through the shoulder and correct with great bone and a good body. The Jimmy Creed foals are very athletic and have inherited their sire’s great looks and quality, and the Warrior’s Reward out of Southern Tip has definitely been stamped. He is exactly like his sire in the head, and he is very correct with good leg.”

Hamish Esplin of Tartan Fields NSW sees quality in his well-developed Hampton Court colt.

“I have been a huge fan of Hampton Court since he broke the 35-year-old track record and race record in the Spring Champion Stakes,” Esplin said. “From our first attempt, he has produced a correct, athletic, and most importantly, attractive colt.”

The first foals by Jimmy Creed are also garnering their share of praise from breeders.

“We went to Jimmy Creed to access those great bloodlines and are thrilled that we got such a stunning filly and a cracking colt; we couldn’t be happier,” said Lyn Joyce from Tasmania.

“We got a neat, athletic and correct foal that already looks an early type. We are very pleased,” noted Mike Thew of Crowning Stone NSW.

Of his Warrior’s Reward filly, Ron Kervers of South Australia said, “She is a very neat and correct filly. Given she is from the first crop of Warrior’s Reward, we look forward to watching her develop.”

Hampton Court is a record-setting son of Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice. Winner of the Spring Champion Stakes (G1) in track-record time at Royal Randwick, Hampton Court is from the family of Champion Makybe Diva.

Jimmy Creed is a Grade 1-winning son of two-time Champion Sire Distorted Humor. From a prolific female family, Jimmy Creed won the Malibu Stakes (G1) over the fastest 3-year-old sprinters in the U.S., running 1400 meters in 1:20.36.

Warrior’s Reward is a grand-looking Grade 1 winner by world-class sire Medaglia d’Oro. Represented by a Kentucky Derby (G1) colt in his first crop, Warrior’s Reward had 10 blacktype horses in 2015 and is a leading third-crop sire in the U.S. this year.
