Fine Dining, Carina Lau to Open 3 New Restaurants in Hong Kong
Get ready for the longest lines Hong Kong may have seen, actress Carina Lau is opening not one, but 3 new restaurants atop Tsim Tsa Tsui hotspot, The One.
The exciting cities of Barcelona and Kyoto provided inspiration for the restaurants, according to the actress. “The Japanese and Spanish themes were chosen because they are both very popular and are also two of my personal favourite cuisines,” shares the star. “I travelled to both Kyoto and Barcelona with our chefs to learn as much as I could about them, as well as gathering ideas about authentic decor for the restaurants.”
Set to open in September is Kyoto-influenced Kyo-Shun (pictured), which will feature seasonal items cooked on a traditional charcoal grill, as well as Spanish eateries Zurriola and Tapagria.
The latter will focus on tapas, and will become more vibrant as the night goes on and the sangria keeps pouring , there are 65 sangrias to choose from, while the former will feature Barcelona classics like bomba rice.
Ms. Lau has partnered with interior decorator Ira Imerlishvili, deciding to embrace the lively essence of both cities in a minimalist yet sophisticated design, with an open kitchen and alfresco options available to either take in the mouthwatering process of your food being cooked, or the expansive views of the Hong Kong harbor.
Take your pick – we have a feeling they’ll be booked out for months!
