Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Shares Trading Over 100 After Hours
YTD Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) has provided the best returns of any car company, as its Ferrari stock price has surged about 70%.
Thursday, in regular session trading it marked 100.08/share on the NYSE. After hours RACE is trading at 100.25/share, its all time high.
A Key reasons is the iconic Italian luxury Supercar brand’s worldwide marketing and commercial expertise.
Very few people know that Enrico Galliera is 1 of the most powerful people at Ferrari (NYSE:RACE), Mr. Galliera, dubbed Dottoressa No (Dr. No), is the company’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer.
Mr. Galliera is the man who decides who is allowed to purchase highly-sought after Limited Edition examples.
As Mr. Galliera explained, “We have much higher demand than the availability. So what we do is identify criteria that is rewarding good customers.” He added the company considers offering Limited Editions to be a “regallo” (gift) to its best customers.
He says that the hardest part of his job is saying no but it is one he has to do a regular basis.
As an example, the company told 200 customers about the LaFerrari Aperta ahead of its reveal and asked if they would be interested in purchasing the car sight unseen. The response was overwhelming and every person said Yes.
Mr. Galliera also revealed he receives applications from non meritano people, those who do not deserve a Ferrari even though they may be billionaires and occasionally Kings. These people are easy to reject if they are not already Ferrari clients but it gets significantly harder when he has to say no to someone who is a ottimo clienti or very good customer.
The marketing director said that Ferrari F1 drivers are usually the only employees who are allowed to purchase new models.
Mr. Galliera says this is because “… with such limited production and clients waiting so long to get their car, it’s not nice if the car is delivered to employees.”
