Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) to Debut the “Fastest of the Fast” at Geneva
Next month’s Geneva Motor Show will debut the Ferrari 812 Superfast, the fastest of fast.
In terms of power, a natural 6.5 V12 engine is able to produce 789HP and 530 lb-ft of torque, allowing drivers to hit 62 mph in just 2.9 secs. Ferrari has not put a cap on its Superfast’s top speed, saying it can reach “211 mph plus“.
The Supercar’s design is quite the shift away from the F12 Berlinetta which it replaces.
“The 812 Superfast thus ushers in a new era in Ferrari 12-cylinder history, in doing so building on the invaluable legacies of the F12berlinetta and F12tdf,” Ferrari said. “It is aimed at clients demanding the most powerful and exclusive Ferrari in the range: an uncompromising sports car that will deliver exhilarating driving both on road and track yet also be comfortable enough to allow its owners to enjoy it as an all-round experience.”
The fastback design conceals active flaps at the front of the underbody, and a rear flank featuring an aerodynamic bypass. Interior, the cabin has a sportier look than its predecessor and includes ergonomic seats. The steering wheel is different thanks to the new electric power system developed to work with Ferrari’s Slide Slip Control.
Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, 812 Superfast builds on Ferrari berlinetta heritage.
Ferrari compares it with the 365 GTB4 of 1969 aka Daytona, it compare it with the greatest of Ferrari’s berlinetta race cars from Y 1959 up through the mid 1960’s, including the 250GTO.
Purchase, is expect to by well over $300,000.
