This Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) is 1 of It’s Greatest Supercars
The very rare F50 is among the wildest cars to emerge from Maranello the 1990’s.
The incredible 1995 Ferrari F50 is aa 520-hp, 4,698 cc V12 engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission with the iconic gated shifter and is a mean machine.
Liveried in Ferrari’s Nero high gloss finish the F50’s menacing lines makes it much more interesting.
Ferrari only built 4 such F50s, from a production run of 349 cars, and just 2 of them came to the USA.
RM Shotheby Auctions (NYSE:BID) is now offering one of these super-rare beauties for sale, and the winning bid is predicted to as much as $3.5-M. The sale is on Friday, 20 January, at Phoenix, Arizona.
The F50’s 4.7-liter V12 redlines at 10,000 rpm, producing a sound akin to The Scuderia’s Formula One racers of the time. In fact, the F50’s engine comes directly from the technology Ferrari was using in its race cars at the time, with an uncommon 5-valve-per-cylinder design.
Recall that 20 years ago, the F50 was producing 0-60 acceleration times of 3.5 secs and it had a top speed at 202 and its V12 makes it sound amazing doing it.
And the Nero black high gloss paint looks terrific.
If you buy this Ferrari it is unlikely you will ever pass yourself going the other direction, there is only 1 other such car in the country.
