F1: Hamilton Takes the Pole at Silverstone
MercedesAMG’s Lewis Hamilton has won his 5th British GP pole, and is now 1 pole win away from equaling Michael Schumacher.
This is Mr. Hamilton’s 3rd pole in a row, but he is under investigation for an incident between him and Mr. Grosjean, more on that will follow.
Ferrari’s Raikkonen and Vettel came home in P2 and P3 for Ferrari. Mr. Bottas despite finishing 4th will start Sunday’s race from P9.

Mr. Bottas will be taking a 5 place grid penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change.
Mr. Hamilton was served a similar penalty at the Austrian GP last weekend.
Mr. Ricciardo will also serve a similar penalty while Mr. Alonso will start from the back of the field.
A few drops of rain were part of Q1 and the Red Bulls, Ferrari and McLaren opted for the inters.
Mr. Raikkonen later reported heavy rain on the track before Mr. Ricciardo put the fastest time on 1m42.966s.
