Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Sebastian Vettel raced to his 1st F1 victory since July at the Brazilian Grand Prix Sunday, MercedesAMG’s Lewis Hamilton came 4th after starting from the pitlane.

Mr. Vettel wasted no time in taking the lead from MercedesAMG’s Valtteri Bottas at the start.

Getting the stronger start, the Mr. Vettel dove down the inside at Turn 1 to pull off a move that, had it been attempted on a lesser driver, may have resulted in a shunt.

After the problems of recent races and missing out on the world title to Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Vettel said that the 2X podium; Kimi Raikkonen finished 3rd behind Mr. Bottas was just the lift that the Team Scuderia.

“For now, winning it is a great release,” said Mr. Vettel. “Obviously, it’s been a tough race. I just spoke with Valtteri and I think the pace, we were all more or less the same. It was really difficult, no room for mistakes. It was really difficult to control the tires the whole race, so I think it will take a while and then I’m sure we will have a drink and see what is coming.”

“I have to say also, Lewis did a great comeback. He got some really good point still so on to Abu Dhabi.”

Mr. Hamilton, voted Driver of the Day, has never won a Grand Prix after wrapping up the title, but put on a show for fans as he made the most of a brand-new MercedesAMG power unit to showcase his talent as he fought to 4th after starting from beyond last

Late in the race, attention switched to Felipe Massa. Racing in his last in his native Brazil, Mr. Massa came out on Top in a race long duel for 7th place with former teammate Fernando Alonso.

The 2017 F1 season wraps up in 2 weeks in Abu Dhabi.

The win was the 47th of Sebastian Vettel’s career and the 1st for Ferrari in Brazil since Y 2008.
