Donald Trump Suspends Campaign, Attends 9/11 Remembrance
Donald Trump is visiting the 9/11 Remembrance Memorial Sunday to mark the 15th anni of the radical Islamic terror attacks.
The Republican nominee also visited a nearby Firehouse after his stop at Ground Zero
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton announced she will visit Ground Zero for the annual moment of silence at 8:46a EDT, the moment when the 1st plane hit the North tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns suspended activities for the 9/11 Remembrance Memorial.
FLASH: Hillary Clinton Sunday became “Overheated” at the 9/11 Remembrance Memorial ceremony at Ground Zero and was taken from the event early.
Mrs. Clinton left the NYC event and went to daughter Chelsea Clinton’s apartment and was “feeling much better,” according to her spokesman Nick Merrill.
Speculation abounds that Mrs. Clinton is sick and on Rx medication for “alertness”
Saturday, Donald Trump praised the modern conservative movement’s “founding mother” Phyllis Schlafly for her fierce devotion to country, family and God, saying her legacy will inspire every “underdog” who “defies the odds and delivers a win for the people.”
In remarks at the funeral Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Donald Trump said Mrs. Schlafly was “there for me when it was not at all fashionable.”
“America has always been about the underdog and also been about defying the odds,” he said, adding: “The idea that so-called little people or the little person that she loved so much could beat the system, oftentimes the rigged system.”
Phyllis Schlafly died Monday at 92 anni, she became an iconic figure in the conservative movement for her battles against feminists in the 1970’s, and her fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. She was a supporter of Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign, and attended the GOP convention in August
“She loved her country, she loved her family and she loved her God,” Donald Trump said. “Her legacy will live on every time some underdog out-matched and out-gunned defies the odds and delivers a win for the people.”
He praised her trailblazing in the grassroots movement.
“You’ve been hearing a lot about it, that the American grass roots is more powerful than all the world’s special interests put together,” he said. “That’s the way she felt. She’s always felt that way. That’s the romance of America.
