Donald Trump, “We have a very false economy”
Donald Trump reiterated his hardline approach on the deportation of “a huge number” of illegal immigrants, vowing Monday, if elected, “they’re going out so fast your head would spin.”
In his remarks Donald Trump described his intention to reporters traveling on his plane with him to a Labor Day rally in Youngstown, OH.
“They’re going out so fast your head would spin,” he said. “That’s a huge number. That’s not like a small number. That’s a tremendous number.”
He added there will be just 1 route to legal status, “To leave the country 1st.”
“To become a citizen you’re going to have to go out and come back in,” he said. “You’re going to have to get on line. This is not touchback. You have to go out and you have to get in line, you have to come back in to become a citizen.”
In his Phoenix speech, Mr. Trump outlined a plan to initially deport any illegal immigrants with a criminal history, and those who have overstayed their visas, a total that could reportedly top 6-M illegals.
He did not specifically address what would happen with the millions of others of illegal immigrants in the country.
Also, Donald Trump said Monday that the US Federal Reserve is keeping interest rates low to prevent an economic downturn and “at some point” the rates must change.
“They are keeping the rates down so that everything else does not go down,” he said in response to a reporter traveling on his plane who asked him to address a potential rate hike by the Fed in September. “We have a very false economy,” he said.
“At some point the rates are going to have to change,” Donald Trump added. “The only thing that is strong is the artificial stock market,” he said.
