Chicago Agriculture Grain Futures Finish Mixed

Corn, Soybean and Wheat futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) Friday, Corn and Soybean fell and Wheat rose.

The most active Corn contract for Dec delivery fell 4.5 cents, or 1.17%, to close at 3.8175 bu.

The most active Soybean contract for Jan delivery lost 31 cents, or 2.94%, to close at 10.225 bu.

The most active Wheat contract for Dec delivery rose 6.75 cents, or 1.22%, to close at 5.605 bu.

The US export sales weekly report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the week ending 6 November showed net Wheat sales for delivery in FY 2014/2015 rose 57% from the prior wk, and Corn net sales were up 6%, while Soybean net sales went down 33%.

Friday’s trading was light as Wheat futures held firmer, as Corn and Soybean weakened. The most selling pressure occurred in Soybean as November expiration and worse-than-expected weekly US Soymeal exports potentially showed expanded domestic supply.

Dry and warm weather is slated from Friday into the middle of next week, with the potential for some rains.

The outlook for South American agriculture graincrops is favorable into early December. Analysts say chances of precipitation in central Brazil increased, boosting its crop prospects and putting pressures on CBOT Soybean.
