Bobby Troup, “Get Your Kicks on Route 66”
$F, $FCAU, $RACE
The 100th anni in Y 2026 of the iconic Route 66 has motoring enthusiasts hoping to preserve, protect and promote that legendary ribbon of concrete & asphalt and the landmarks along the way.
The Route 66 Centennial Commission Act, H.R. 66 was recently introduced by Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois and sits awaiting passage at the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
For us motoring enthusiasts, this will be government money well spent.
Automobile manufactures are building cars worthy of traveling the legendary American road Fast and in Style.
Ford (NYSE:F) just announced the performance numbers on the new GT and they are Wild!.
Top speed in the new GT is 216 mph and it puts out 647 hp. Ford’s GT is faster than the McLaren and Ferrari (NYSE:RACE).
The race driver in us wants to get behind the wheel and put the petal to the metal.
Fiat-Chrysler (NYSE:FCAU) not to be outdone presents the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
It has been described as “the biggest, baddest muscle car on the block.” Dodge equipped the Demon with barely street legal Nitto tires and the widest tire on any vehicle and accompanying fenders.
Aston Martin has an entry with its Vanquish Volante S.
This Aston Martin features a naturally-aspirated 5.9 liter V12, puts out 580 hps and sounds amazing, it is all about the sound for some, me included.
Ford announced that its new Bronco coming in Y 2020, some were worried it would be hybridized and not worthy of the name.
But, the Bronco will have solid axles, a good sign for the off-road enthusiasts. The Bronco needs to be everything that was great about the original models. The People want Ford to build a Jeep fighter, an off-road vehicle that the “prepers” can use to escape a Zombie Apocalypse if they must.
This is me in mine heading to Baja to run the 1st 500. We did finish!
We wait and hope Ford does not disappoint.
Have a terrific weekend.
